To make the dulce de leche sauce:
1. bring a large pot of water to boil and place 1 can of sweetened condensed milk inside the pot.
2. Turn down the burner so that the water is simmering and cook for 1 1/2 hours. Make sure that the can is covered in water the entire time or it may explode.
3. Take the can out and allow it to cool completely before opening, the sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
